A last-minute plan
We're always on the lookout for places to fly where we can have a picnic-lunch, take the dog for a walk and enjoy some beautiful scenery. Our list of qualifying airports is pretty short - so we were looking for someplace new to try. Patricia Bay is on the West side of Victoria airport. Would a short Uber Ride from the Victoria Flying Club to the bay be worth it? Would there be access to the beach? Is it even nice there? Well ... only way to find out, would be to try it.
The Vancouver Terminal Controller let us go 'direct'. That's very rare!
It was, of course, a beautiful flight across to Victoria - as it always is.

It was a short (and cheap) Uber ride from the flying club over to Patricia Bay
The beach at Patricia Bay turned out to be well worth the effort. It's a beautiful spot, with a good trail that goes all the way around the bay, and lots of access to the beach - which is rocky in some places, and sandy (muddy) in others.
